I. Relief Wings, an organization headed by
H i s s R u t h N i c h o l s o f N e w Yo r k C i t y, i s a g r o u p o f n u r s e s
who are anxious and ~wi3]ing to cooperate with Civil Air
P a t r o l w h e r e v e r i t i s n e c e s s a r y. N s t i o n a l H e a d q u a r t e r s
believes that this orqanizatinn has much merit.
2. We are perfectly willing, if you deezl it
advisable, for your Wing to coooerate !:ith Relief Wings;
h o w e v e r, N : ~ t i o n a ] H e a d q u a r t e r s d o e s n o t f e e l t h a t C i v i l
Air Patrol should assume any financial responsibility or
in ar~rey participate in fund raising for this orsanization.

Subject: Relief Wings

All Unit Commanders
I. @{4-~8, regariing optional cooperation with Relief
Wings, Inc., is herebyrescinded and copies will be removed from
the files of CAP units.
2. Although ~.~-46 stated that Civil Air Patrol could
not participate in fund raising for Relief Wings this organization
has sought to raise funds on the theory that CAP planes would be
available to carry cut its missions. Rational Headquarters cannot
lend implied endorsement to fund raising activities of this
nature.
