Airports Used by CAP

1. It is urgent that ~iation~l Headcuarters have a current list
of all lauding fields from which CAP planes are operating. The armed forces
have been leasing a large number of civilian fields. In some cases, it is
p o s s i b ~ l e t o c o n t i n u e j o i n t o p e r a t i o n s b y c A P. B u t i f a u t h o r i t i e s i n W a s h Ington do not know tP~at CAP is based on a given f~eld, arrangements for
leasing may be concluded without provision for Joist operations so that an
entire Squadron may be grounded or obliged to move to another site.
2. Each CAP ~quadron is directed to transmit directly to Wing
Headquarters. with a copy to Group Heado~rters, information regarding each
designated landing area which Squadron membcrs are using in C~P operations.
Data should incl~Ide the name and location of the field, the identification
number of CAP units bamed theze, the ~pproximsts number of CAP plr~es and
pilots using the field, the approzimate dimensions of the field, and brief
data re~ding its condition.
3. Each Wing Headquarters is directed to ~end a complete summary
of the data received from the Squadrons to E~tionrl Headquarters na ~onn as
possible in the following style:
Jonesboro Municipal Airport, HQ Group 513 and Squadron 31~I;
Z ml. NE of Jonesboro, Ohio. 4,000' x 3,000'. 2 paved runways. Field in
good condition. 30 CAP planes and 40 pilots.
South Jonesboz'c Airport, Flight 513-2a; 6 mi, SE of Jone.sbero,
Ohio. 3.000i x 2,000'. Turf field; no runways. Power line obstmiction to
north. 50AP planes s~ud I0 pilots.
