SUBJECT: Legality of Acceptance "by CAP of Services of Stenographer
Paid "by Corporation or Individual Interested in Assisting
the CAP Program

1. This Headquarters recently had occasion to refer to the Air '
Judge Advocate the question of the legality of acceptance by CAP unitg
of the services of a stenographer who was to be paid by a corporatfon'
interested in assistit^. the CAP program in this way.
2. The Air Judg^ Advocate is of the opinion that there would
be no legal objection to the acceptance of unconditional offers of
•voluntary service to be rendered Civil Air Patrol or its units provide
that the offer of such service is unconditional and the individuals
(the corporation and the stenographer) execute a waiver of any and
all claims against the Governmeat for injuries to persons or damage '
to property incurred as the result of rendering such "voluntary service.

3l In accordance vrith-the above, acceptance of such service by'
a Cap unit is authorized provided that the reo^oirewrnts as stated
above-are fulfilled,
