Subject: lh~rchase of Uniforms from Post Exchanges
To:

All Unit Commanders

i. We have been notified by the Quartermaster General's
Office that the authority for Civil Air Patrol ne:~bers to purchase
u n i f o r m s t h r o u g h } : o s t E x c h a n g e s h a s b e e n c a n c e l l e d . H o w e v e r, t h i s
cancellation does not affect the authority to purchase uniforms
for privates .¢rom the Quartermastem Depots.
2. The reason for cancelling this auth:~rity is to !rotect the 1-etailers (authorized Army Exchange Stores) throughout
the country who have permission to sell regulation Army Officers'
unifo~ns and equipment. Reg~lation uniforms as well as the
necessary equipment may be purchased through authorized Army
Exchange Stores at the same price as at Post Exchanges. Therefore,
this change does not affect the saving to Civil Air Patrol membe1"s
in the purchase, of their uniforms.
