Subjects Cap Device for Civil Air Patrol Officers

1, The Office of the Quarterraaster General has approved
a d e s i g n t o b e w o r n o n s e r v i c e c a p s b y o f fi c e r s o n l y. T h e
design adopted consists of our reflation cap disc, except that
it is smaller (l inch in diameter) and silver wings are attached
in a vertical position,
2, This cap device may be purchased from the Robbins
Company, Attleboro, r,iiassachusotts ($1.75 including tax), or from
the Green Company, Kansas City, Missouri (|1,65 including tax)»
Check or money order should accompany the order,
3, Since this cap device embodies the basic Civil Air
Patrol patented design, it my be ordered only through Wing, Group
or Squadron Supply Officers, Orders placed b^;- individuals cannot
be accepted by the companies licensed by the Office of Civilian
D e f e n s e t o m a k e a n d s e l l t h e s e a r t i c l e s . To p r e v e n t u n a u t h o r i z e d
use of the insignia, it is required that all orders be approved
in writing by the National Commander, the appropriate Wing Com
mander or a deputized Supply Officer siting the Wing Commander*s
name (see GM-4.b dated July 2, 194-2)« Rfany complaints as to slow
deliveries are due to the fact that this procedure, required by
Office of Civilian Defense regulations, has not been followed and
manufacturers have been obliged to return orders for the proper
confirmation.
