SQUADRON OPERATIONS RECORDS

i. The Squadron Operations Officer will keep complete records on the following:
a. All Flying operations.
b. Status of training of flight crews.
c. Number and types of airplanes available and
the ~luipment ins~lled on each.
2. Such information will be needed for periodic reports. The file of Squadron Operations Orders, together with
the records of flying time, (squadron operations board, log
books, e.ud operations reports) will enable the Squadron Operations Officer to compile a monthly summary of the number of
hours flown ~y the Squadron on various types of operations nnd
missions.
3 . W h e n r e c o r, l a i s s a u c e m i s s i o n s a r e fl o w n , a P i l o t Observer Report will be ~ade out by the observer and countersigned by the pilot. Except when specifically ordered, such
reports will not contain information regarding movements or
installations of friendly military troops or naval units or
their location. When such information is officially ordered,
extreme care will be exercised by all concerned to see that it
is properly safeguarded and that it is not permitted to fall
into unauthorized hands. Pilot-0bserver Reports are ordinarily
fi l e d w i t h t h e I n t e l l i g e n c e O f fi c e r.
4 . W h e n s o d i r e c t e d b y p r o p e r a u t h o r i t y, p i l o t s w i l l
make out Operations Reports.covering flight missions.
5. Training Mission reports need not be r~tained in
t h e fi l e s u n l e s s s o d i r e c t e d b y p r o p e r a u t h o r i t y.
6. Suggested forms for the Pilot-Observer Report and
for the Operations Report accom~u~y this Directive.
