Lee’s Summit Composite Squadron
1st Lt Julianne Dresser, Squadron Commander

Cadet Elijah McNiel received the Wright Brothers achievement.
Cadet Andrew Wong received the Charles Lindbergh Achievement.


C/Capt Aaron Crozier relinquished command to the new cadet commander, C/Capt
Jared Ellis
Cadet Jack Gavin received the Wright Brothers Achievement.
Cadet Austin White received the Jimmy Doolittle Achievement
Cadet Aaron Crozier received the Public Affairs Officer Achievement
C/1st Lt Ariel Switzer attended the CAP Legislative Day in Washington DC as a
representative of Missouri Wing.


Astronomy STEM Kit was completed by the squadron with AEO Jim Hale instructing.


On April 26th 1st Lt Kevin Toomey relinquished command to 1st Lt Julianne Dresser.
DCC/Finance, Safety, and Admin Officer Johnna Hale and AEO Jim Hale moved to
Kansas and stepped down from their involvement with the squadron.
9 members of Lee’s Summit came out to support the Young Eagles Fly-In and Pancake
breakfast at the Lee’s Summit Airport. Cass County’s SMSgt Mike Mudry assisted as


Cadet Aaron Crozier received the Earhart Award
Squadron had a family picnic at Lea McKeighan Park at the corner of Douglas and
Chipman St in Lee’s Summit. The Toomeys paid for volleyball court time, and the
Switzers donated hamburgers and hotdogs. Over forty members and their families
6 members of Lee’s Summit and 8 members of Cass County provided flight line
marshaling, crowd control, and parking assistance for the May Young Eagles Fly-In and
Pancake breakfast at Lee’s Summit Airport.


C/Capt Aaron Crozier left for Colorado Springs to become a freshman at the Air Force
Academy after being accepted to AFA, the Naval Academy, and West Point.


Seven members attended the Missouri Wing Summer Encampment in Fort Leonard
Wood, including:
Ariel Switzer: Duty Officer
Andrew Wong: Flight Sergeant
2nd Lt Kim Wong: PAO
SDS students: Elijah McNiel, Austin Bennett
Basic students: Riley Taranto, Jack Gavin


5 members of Lee’s Summit and 2 members of Cass County came out to support the
Young Eagles Pancake Breakfast and Fly-In at Lee’s Summit Airport.


Squadron moved meeting location from Air Charter Hangar to the Conference room
building next to the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport terminal building and changed from
Tuesday nights to Thursday nights, 1830 to 2030.
Grain Valley Composite Squadron began having joint meetings with Lee’s Summit due
to loss of meeting space in Grain Valley and need for additional senior members in
Lee’s Summit.
Several members of Lee’s Summit assisted the Cass County Squadron with the
Harrisonville Airport Pancake Breakfast and Fly-In.
Over 16 members of Lee’s Summit, Cass County, Grain Valley, and Platte Valley came
out to assist with the Young Eagles Pancake Breakfast and Fly-In in Lee’s Summit.
Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and only a couple of young people got to
fly. However, we still did active Aerospace Education – External and recruiting.


Cadet Patrick Isbell received the Curry Achievement
Cadet Isabelle Morgan received the Curry Achievement
Larry Morgan joined the squadron as a senior member, serving as Testing Officer and
Assistant AE Officer.
2d Lt John Bushong was appointed as Deputy Commander of Cadets.
1st Lt Julianne Dresser and C/1st Lt Ariel Switzer attended the 2015 Missouri Wing
Conference and Awards Banquet. C/LtCol Kole Tilson received the Missouri Wing
Cadet Officer of the Year Award.
15 members of Lee’s Summit and Cass County reported to Lee’s Summit Airport to
assist with the Young Eagles Fly-In and Pancake Breakfast. However, due to weather
no one was able to fly.


Cadet Joseph Katon received the Curry Achievement
Six members attended the Group 1 Bivouac held at the Smithville Lake, including 1st Lt
Julianne Dresser, and cadets Patrick Isbell, Joseph Katon, Michael Otsubo, Cheyenne
Feldman, and Eliora Switzer.


At the annual squadron award ceremony Aaron Crozier was presented with his Earhart
certificate by BrigGen James Mackey. Six cadets were recognized for their participation
in a mission resulting in a Find ribbon, and six cadets received a token for all their hard
work in obtaining their GTM3 qualification. SM Larry Morgan received his certificate for
completing his Professional Development Level 1.
Six cadets attended the KS Wing Winter Encampment in Fort Riley, KS. Isabelle
Morgan was awarded Charlie Flight Honor Cadet; Joseph Katon won the Top
Marksman Award; and Eliora Switzer won the Most Improved Cadet Award.

Many members attended the Group 1 Holiday Dining out held at the National Airline
History Museum at the Kansas City Downtown Airport. The following received awards:
