SUMMARY NARRATIVE OF MAJOR ACTIVITIES

Chapter I

OPERATIONS

Search and Rescue
Participated in a number of ES Training activities during 2017 geared primarily around cadets
and ground team including a practice mission in July. From September through November 2017
interested parties from CMCS participated in ground team training by coming to the weekly
squadron meeting one hour early. In December, a Saturday was spend performing Flight Line
Marshaling training.

Chapter II AEROSPACE EDUCATION

Internal Aerospace Education
CMCS PARTICIPATED IN ALL THE AEROSPACE STEM ACADEMY SESSIONS IN 2017
THAT TOOK PLACE AT FT. LEONARD WOOD.
CMCS PARTICIPATED IN A FLIGHT SIMULATOR ACTIVITY CONDUCTED IN
BOONEVILLE, MO.
FROM JANUARY THROUGH JULY 2017 CMCS CONDUCTED A PRIVATE PILOT
GROUND SCHOOL. INTERESTED CADETS AND SENIOR MEMBERS PARTICIPATED
BY COMING TO THE WEEKLY SQUADRON MEETING ONE HOUR EARLY TO
ATTEND THE CLASS.
SEVERAL CADETS AND SENIOR MEMBERS ATTENDED DRONE RACES IN
MOBERLY, MO.

CMCS CONDUCTED A WEEKEND EVENT DEVELOPED AROUND THE SOLAR
ECLIPSE IN AUGUST.
CMCS PERSONNEL ATTENDED A TOUR OF THE NATIONAL GUARD AVIATION
FACILITY IN JEFFERSON CITY IN APRIL.

External Aerospace Education
CMCS SUPPORTED A NUMBER OF WING ACTIVITIES REGARDING THE AEROSPACE
STEM PROGRAM AND AEROSPACE EDUCATION MEMBERSHIPS.
CMCS PARTICIPATED IN THE COLUMBIA MISSOURI "A SALUTE TO VETERANS"
AIRSHOW CONDUCTED DURING MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND.
CAP HAD 2
AIRCRAFT THERE TO DISPLAY TO THE PUBLIC AS WELL AS HANDOUT
INFORMATION REGARDING CAP/AEROSPACE. THE WING SOAP BOX DERBY CAR
WAS ALSO DISPLAYED.
CMCS COORDINATED THE ASSEMBLY, PAINTING, AND STORAGE OF THE WING
SOAP BOX DERBY CAR. CMCS PARTICIPATED IN THE SOAP BOX DERBY RACES
CONDUCTED IN COLUMBIA IN JUNE.
CMCS PARTICIPATED IN A LEGISLATIVE DAY IN JEFFERSON CITY IN JANUARY.

CADET PROGRAMS

Cadet Programs
CMCS CONTINUED AN ACTIVE CADET PROGRAM. CMCS SUPPORTED WING AND
GROUP CADET ACTIVITIES WITH CADET ATTENDEES AND SENIOR MEMBER
ASSISTANCE.
Cadet Activities
IN ADDITION TO THE ACTIVITIES DESCRIBED ABOVE THE CMCS PARTICIPATED
IN A NUMBER OF COLOR GUARD POSTINGS INCLUDING:
HOMESCHOOL
ASSOCIATION ICE SCREAM SOCIAL, MISSOURI EMPLOYERS SUPPORT OF THE
GUARD AND RESERVE DINNER, HOME SCHOOL GRADUATION CEREMONY, and
Lincoln Days Celebration in Moberly.
CMCS PARTICIPATED IN THE WHITEMAN AFB AIRSHOW IN JUNE.
CMCS PARTICIPATED IN THE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE IN COLUMBIA, MO.
CMCS CONDUCTED AN AIRMAN ACADEMY FOR NEW OR LOWER LEVEL CADETS
IN APRIL.
