In an effort to expand the membership of the CAP, Captain Brian C Emmett has joined
the local chapter of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). The St. Louis
Rocketry Association (SLRA) participates in many launching events, some internal to the
club membership, and others open to the general public. One of the events this year was
the 4th Annual Ft. Zumwalt Middle School Rocketry Camp. Captain Emmett had the
opportunity to interface with many young “Rocketeers” and share the history of Space
Exploration and the fun of model rocketry. Col. John R. O’Neill, CAP MO-001
Commander, is available for contact.
In addition to the above organization, Captain Emmett is a Certified FAA Pt.121
Instructor. He uses his role as an Aviation Professional to spread the word about the Civil
Air Patrol, it’s history, and present day mission to potential new senior members.
Furthermore, through his weekly contact with Flight Safety International he is able to
arrange cadet visits to the St. Louis Training Facility. This allows the cadets to
experience a professional aviation-training environment, and have their hands on the
controls of a transport category aircraft simulator. Mr. David Glass, Center Manager
1. STL, is available for contact.
